The USA Hapkido Union, Inc. Institute & the Roles of Officers
The respective duties of the faculty as a whole and of those faculty who are officers of the Institute are set forth in the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees. These Bylaws delegate to the faculty the authority to provide for the establishment of curricula and courses and for the establishment of a program of extra-course education for students.
Various designated administrative members of the faculty are assigned the authority and responsibility for the administration of the regular and extra-course educational programs for members.

Professor Richard Hackworth is the President and Provost of the Institute and the chief executive officer. The provost’s responsibilities include the supervision of the academic programs of the entire Institute and the development and administration of the Institute academic budget. In addition to the Deans of the various certification programs, he is assisted by the Deputy Provost, Vice Provost for Research, Vice Provost for Graduate and Professional Education, Vice Provost for the Library, Associate Provost for Administration Services, and Assistant Provost for School Growth and Success.

Vice President and Chairman
KJN James R. Hogwood is the Vice President and Chairman of The USA Hapkido Union, Inc. Institute and is the chief administrative officer of the Institute and has the responsibility for the appointment of the Provost and Committee Members, and with the provost for the appointment of Vice Provosts, Deans, and Department Chairpersons. The Chairman represents the Institute and is its executive agent empowered with general supervision of the affairs of the Institute. This includes being the Primary Instructor for all official courses conducted in the USA.
